5. Dog's are the best listeners. Even if they have no clue what you are saying, I swear they can read your tone. They will sit with you when you watch tv, wag their tails when you talk to them and will follow you everywhere. It is like having a little brother who does everything you want to do...
4. They teach responsibility. I mean how can you not, a living animal that lets you know when to wake up, when to take him out, when to feed him. He also teaches you how to clean up pee, poop and throw up on the carpet. You will learn to wash him, and clean up after him. He or she makes you clean. Yes, not only do they shed everywhere, but they also slobber and stink up the house. But hey, if they didn't, would you really sweep the floor???
