Lock it up!

So this is Softball...

I have no idea who that man is, but I love the intensity...

Anyways;
First double header in the books, and BOY am I sore. No one told me it was going to be so competitive and serious. I mean, my team lives for this. And after the game our coach was talking about PRACTICE and getting EXTRA work in the cage. What we really need to do is have a pitcher who doesn't give up 100 runs a game...

But it is all good, even though we lost the first game ( Coach said the team is a travel team or something like that, and plays a lot). We hung in there with them, but we got smacked at then end...

The second game was your classic nail biter. It was your typical pitchers duel, 17-16 win. Tying run on second, smash into the outfield and the classic two handed sideways catch to seal the deal.

I had a decent day at the plate going 7-8 with 3 home runs, 2 doubles and 9 rbis. I homered in my first three at bats until someone told me that that was the limit. Ugh.

Bring on Monday!!!

I hate morning meetings.

Anyway, this Saturday at the Avenues Mall, Tim Tebow will be doing an autograph signing....

I don't care but some of you may, unless of course he is a Jaguar!!!

That's all.

Humpday Tidbits...

Wed. Hump day. Tidbits...

- Allen Iverson has finally said goodbye to the game. This was a guy who at one point was the best small point guard in the history of the league. No one played harder and drove to the hoop better than AI. While his off the field antics may define his career, he single handily put the Sixers on his back for almost a decade. He was constantly leading the league in scoring, even if he didn't give a damn about practice!

- Romero makes the opening day start today for the Jays in spring training...ROMERO FEVER!!!!

- The movie Hurt Locker, which I have not even heard of until yesterday is under heat for being to "much like John Wayne." I did not know that was possible.

- The Gators blew a huge chance to solidly there seed in the NCAA tourney with a 4 point loss to Vanderbilt. Funny thing is they didn't score a field goal in the last 9 minutes. That is bad. And Vandy you can only win by 4 if the other team doesn't score for half of the second half???? You should not be ranked.

- Syracuse Orange is number one on the court and in our hearts.

- The Penguins played the Sabers last night. And while Olympic hero Ryan Miller was given the day off, way to drop the ball on that dream match up (Sidney Crosby vs Ryan Miller).

- There is some Japanese pitcher named Eri Yoshida that supposedly wants to break into major league baseball. The 18 year old was inspired by Tim Wakefeild and features a pretty nasty knuckleball...

- The NY Jets cut top runner Thomas Jones. I guess 1400 yards is not very good these days.

- Friday's at Merrill are now jeans and hoodies or jersey days. There is obviously much rejoicing.

- Yahoo.com said the earth quake in Chile moved the earth axis. This is wonderful news.

- The New Jersey Nets are having such a hard time selling tickets, if you go this week against the Magic they will give you a coupon to have your taxes done for free.

And that's all I have to say about that...

Arod's New Girl...

Just kidding, I have no idea who he is sleeping with. What I do know is that he recently has a date with the FBI over some doctor who was caught in Canada with illegal performance enhancing drugs. "I can't really get into that," Rodriguez said. "I have to speak to those guys first. I've just got to wait for instructions."
Dr. Anythony Galea is facing four charges related to the drug known as Actovegin, which is extracted from calf's blood and used for healing. The Yankee camp said they never authorized this good doctor to work on Arod, and they have no idea if he did. Supposedly this method is used to heal someone faster, so I have no idea besides the fact that it seems to also use HGH, is this drug illegal. Oh well. Other known athletes known to have used this process our Jose Reyes and Tiger Woods. Reyes has been quoted as saying he met with the Fed earlier this week. Tiger of course is working on his Buddhism...

Top 5 Monday's...

So I did a little research, more for personal satisfaction of worthless knowledge than academic endeavours, and what I stumbled on was the top five most visited websites in the world....

Any guesses???? Torontobluejays.com...o wait that is not on this list...

5. Live.com...I guess this is Microsoft's search engine. Don't use it, although sometimes I think Bing has cool pictures...

4. Yahoo.com... Must be because their fantasy sports are the best, and they are free!

3. Youtube.com...I mean where else would you go to find the latest music video, person flying into a car, shark attack, baby biting his brother's fingers, etrade baby outtakes, learn how to play the guitar, learn how to change a diaper, learn how to cook. Youtube is awesome, it is like a dictionary without words.

2. Facebook.com... Who knew. I mean we need to know what you are doing at all times, and of course, wish people happy birthday...gasp..did you see who is now single?!?!?!!

1. Google.com.... who needs a dictionary, or a history book, or a thesaurus, or a map, or ANYTHING. Google is the best invention since the light bulb...right behind soap. And i love looking at their icons....wow that sounds dirty.

Gold and Such...

Phew, that was close. That was a really great game, and my hat goes off to Ryan Miller. He really played out of his mind. I also felt so bad for him and that moronic interviewer who would not leave him alone. The poor guy just wanted to crawl into his locker and drink a whole bottle of Jack Daniel's and this guy was asking him questions about how it felt to lose!!! LOOK AT HIS FACE DUMMY. Moreover, why is it that the ONLY sport in the Olympics that you feel like absolute garbage when you win silver is Hockey. I mean you don't see the skiers, lugers, skaters or curlers looking like their dog died when they win silver....Heck, I would rather win Bronze then lose Gold....

So after a slow start, Canada rounded it out to NAIL 14 Gold medals, a record for one country. USA also nailed it with a record 37 total medals.

I love the olmpyics, it revives a sense of patriotism, and because it is only 4 years, it does not get overplayed. You fall for these kids stories, their lives, and for a brief instant, you feel like you have known them forever...

And last but not least, Obama owes Harper (Canada's PM) a case of Yuengling...
