Top 5 Upsets in Sports...

While I totally feel like that guy above, sometimes you just got to admit defeat. If that is possible when you totally out play a team and still lose...anyways...top 5 Mondays must go on and here is my list of the top 5 biggest upsets in sports...

5. Canada losses to USA. Olympics 2010. (Or insert Miracle on Ice here, put the pain is still to real for me) First time in forever that the boy in Blue have beaten Canada since they allowed NHL players to play. Then again had it not been for Ryan Miller, none of this would have happened anyways. I bet his parents are Canadian...

4. Appalachian State beats Michigan.2007. Not only was Appalachian state a DAA school, Big Blue was ranked #5 at that time! In addition, this was the first time a non bcs school has EVER beaten a ranked team in the top 25. AND THEY DID IT IN MICHIGAN AT THE BIG HOUSE by blocking a last second field goal...

3. Buster vs. Iron Mike 1990...Forget Cinderella Man. As impressive as James J. Braddock’s win over Max Baer in 1935 was, Braddock was merely a 10-to-1 underdog in that fight, which is nothing compared to the 42-to-1 odds that faced James “Buster” Douglas in his heavyweight title fight against Mike Tyson in 1990. Tyson had been the heavyweight champion of the world for more than two years, and appeared unstoppable. The Douglas fight was supposed to be a tune-up, merely warming “Iron Mike” up for an eventual showdown with Evander Holyfield. Douglas had other plans, however, taking the fight to Tyson early and unlike any opponent the champ had ever faced, dominating the early rounds. Tyson would fire back, knocking Douglas down (but not out) in the eighth. The two continued to battle into the tenth round, when Douglas clocked Mike and became the champ.

2. Giants vs. Pats Superbowl XLII...We all know it by now, the undefeated Pats vs the Wildcard Giants. Eli played out of his mind. Tyree caught a ball of his head, and the Giants pass rush led by Tuck and Strahan were relentless. As they said the next day, 17 and 1 GIANT loss....

1. While most people would say this is the Miracle on Ice, which was a very great win for USA hockey, I don't think it is as much on this list as this one. Boston Red Sox vs. NY Yankees (2004). Not only were the Bombers up 3-0 in the series, they were beating down their cursed rivals. At Fenway, the best closer in the history of the game melted down TWICE in games 4 and 5 to bring the Series back to New York. The Idiots were not fazed though and a win in game 6 brought on the critical game 7. From here the Sox pounded Kevin Brown and Javy Vasquez to gain an early lead and silence the ghosts of the Babe....While coming back from a 3-0 deficit had only ever been done by my Maple Leafs before, vs the best closer ever and your heated rivals puts the 2004 World Series Champs at the top of my list....
